Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Reviewed by Greatest One
The Resident Evil series is probably the best and most
successful in the genre we know as survival horror. Both 1
and 2 provided us with many chills and sleepless nights.
Resident Evil 3 is no different.
One thing you should understand before playing the game is
that this is not a sequel to Resident Evil 2. So don't
expect a continuation of the story. Instead, the story takes
place 24 hours prior to Resident Evil 2 and ends 24 hours
after. You play as S. T. A. R. S. member, Jill Valentine, who
was also playable in the first game. Your mission is to
escape from the zombie infested Raccoon City. On your
mission, you will see a few things that was there in
Resident Evil 2.
The game essentially feels similar to the previous versions
with a few improvements. Instead of finding bullets for your
various weapons, you now find different types of gunpowder.
These can be combined in various ways to give you the
firepower you need. Also there are a few new moves. The
quick turn and dodge moves are very helpful in surviving the
huge number of zombies. The Nemesis, which follows you
around is similar to the Tyrant in the 2nd version. He is
faster and more persistent, though.
Overall, fans of the RE series are going to love this game
and I can only hope for more Resident Evil games in the future.
Graphics: 9.
The graphics are even better than before. The zombies and
monsters look really hideous.
Sound: 9.
The music and sound effects are extremely scary and will
give you nightmares.
Gameplay: 9.
Controls can be a bit tricky, but it is not a big deal.
Compared to RE2, this game is pretty hard.
Replay Value: 9.
There are lots of secrets to be found and the cool extra
game allows for more replayability.
Overall: 9 out of 10
This game continues the great Resident Evil series and
doesn't disappoint.
