NBA Live '99

NBA Live '99 came as a huge shiock to me it played almost
exactly like '98 did just wit ha few different things. I am
an avid player of all live and have played everyone of them
from '95 to 2000 on all systems, so I really know my NBA
Live. This game really shouldn't of been released without
some thought or concern about it.
Visuals 8. 5/10
Only slightly better than NBA Live '98. the players are just
about the same size as they were back then as well. The
courts and audience did get a slight touch up. If you seen
the '98 version you aren't looking at anything new here.
Audio 9. 0/10
Just a few new songs play on this game. All the PSX lives
had great music and this one isn't an exeption. The sounds
did have a little more tweaking and fine tuning than last
year and the play by play announcer even said more. Thsi
really isn't enough to warrant a new life but these features
are pretty good to say the least.
Game Play 7. 0/10
HUGE MAJOR FLAW!!! Where are the Rookies!!! No rookies means
bad game, EA Sports did realese another NBA Live '99 wit
hthe rookies in, I think I'm not certain. Without the
rookies this thing is looking more and more like NBA Live
'98. The only difference is a different cross-over other
than that there isn't much else. The only other difference
is the fact that it is easier to steal than in NBA Live '98
it was easier to block shots. The teams were a little
different showing some sort of off season trading that
wasn't in '98. With no new players does it really make a
different. No, it doesn't because I could easily keep up wit
hthe trading myself without the use of a new game with new
features. The Create Your Own Player was quite the same the
only difference is you can make a player with corn row
braids. The A. I. did step up from last year, but you still
can win every scoring title in the game.
Overall 8 out of 10
This game really dissapointed me. The only reason I scored
it a 8 is for the newer people who don't have NBA Live '98
or any version then they will like this. If you have '98 you
might as well forget about '99 because its almost the exact
same game. The replay value I have to say is high just like
'98 its always fun with a bunch of friends around. New to
NBA Live series B-Ball fans only.
