Reviewed by Greatest One
Mortal Kombat is one of the most successful and popular
fighting series of all times. Its bloody nature and engaging
gameplay are instant hits with gamers. Mortal Kombat Trilogy
is the sequel that features all the previous Mortal Kombat characters.
As usual, every fighter has unique moves which are both
bloody, and realistic. Also, every character has a storyline
that attaches him in some form to the Mortal Kombat
tournament. In this version, Shao Kahn is the main villain
who wants to bring all the bad guys from the neatherrealm to
earth. Fighting against him is the elder, Raiden and his
army of mortals, which include Liu Kang, Sonya Blade and
Johnny Cage. The game also has a lot of new characters such
as Curtis Stryker and Rain. It also features four monster
type characters, the most recognizable of which is Goro.
One of the more popular features of the Mortal Kombat games
is the different ways to finish your opponents off.
Fatalities are back, along with babalities, animalities,
brutalities and friendships. Babalities cause your opponents
to turn into babies, animalities awakens the hidden animal
in you, brutalities cause you to pummel your opponent till
he is destroyed and friendships finish your opponents in a friendly way.
Some of these moves are pretty lame due to the vast number
of characters. Overall, this is a decent game, which will
interest any Mortal Kombat fan.

The sound effects and music are similar, but sound better
than the cartridge based games.

Some moves are pretty hard and the game overall isn't too
easy. Shao Kahn is a formidable advesary. Brutalities are
