Mortal Kombat Trilogy

I first got Mortal Kombat thinking taht it was going to be a
huge letdown, and preparing myself for a big disappointment.
Howvever, when the first screen unique to the game came up,
I knew that MKT was going to be a breakthrough. I was
completely, one hundred percent, correct. I truly don't
understand why so many people are railing against this game,
calling it a cheap game that is impossible to beat, saying
that if the same game was made for the NES it would be
better, etc. I think that it is an awesome game for the PSX.
GRAPHICS: Something about them just took me by surprise, I
cannot pinpoint it. The graphics seem crystal clear, but
they still seem a little like the Genesis, althought ten
times better. Still, I like them, because the graphics just
seem to flow together with the greatest of ease, and they
seem like a combo of the PSX and Genesis graphics.
SOUND/MUSIC: Get pretty reptetive, this is the worst part of
the game. The music is the same soundtrack for every
background, which is cool to a degree, I don't know why they
don't mix them up.
CONTROLS: They would make an amateur run from the game,
screaming, on very easy. But with practice, they fit into
your hand very easily, allowing you to smash your opponent
with the greatest of grace. It's just like the Super
Nintendo controls, with a few minor exceptions.
DIFFICULTY: You can set it, five difficulty levels. Very
easy, the opponent just sits there, while in very hard, they
constantly land 8-hit, 55% combos, that, unless you block,
you will die in two seconds. Excellent difficulty system.
OVERALL: I recommend a purchase on this game, but a rent
would suffice if you just want the two
player/two-on-two/eight player tournament modes. But what
thet heck, you need practice in this game if you want to be
any good at it at all, and it only costs about $20, so give
it a buy!

ONE LAST FINAL FOR-THE-ROAD THOUGHT: This is by far the best
Mortal Kombat gam there is, even thought most people are
yelling about how horrible it is. Buy or rent (buy
recommended) it, and decide for yourself!
