Before using this trick you must activate the Level Select code. 
While playing, pause the game and press Square to gain 50 lives! 

Level Select 

At the title screen, press Triangle, Up, Right, Down, Left, Triangle, 
Left, Down, Right, Up, Triangle.

To view all the VMF's, enter the Level Select screen then hold 
Square and press Start.
