Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Playstation 3
I had to cancel my order since after 17 days and I still had not received the game.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent playing machine with a good Blu Ray player
I bought this primarily for watching Blu Ray movies and so far it has delivered.
There are a few gripes though -
1) Not resuming the movie from the point last viewed.
2) Bluetooth remote, thus making a Universal unable to control the PS3.

Overall it has been a great buy especially since a stand-alone Blu Ray player sells for approx. same amount.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Play Station 3 versus Bluray DVD player
Since the battle between Bluray and HD-DVD format is over with Bluray winning, I decided to get the latest video technology to enjoy a better picture and sounds for watching DVD movies. Consequently, I bought this pricipally used as a DVD player and it is an excellent machine. The picture and sounds are superb when you connect it with a HDTV through HDMI interface. It plays normal DVDs with a better resolution than a Sony regular DVD player when you configure Play Station 3 in 1080 (i/p) mode.

If you need a Bluray DVD player to play either Bluray or regular DVD movies, I would recommend you to get a Play Station 3 instead since the price is about the same while you have video game capability. I have seen some Bluray video games from my nephew and the graphics are fantastic. Until Bluray DVD player price drop significantly, Play Station 3 is a much better deal with more features/functions. I do not understand why Sony sets Play Station 3 (a highly rated system) price at the same as Bluray DVD machine (a lower rated machine). Sony may want to sell more video games to make up the difference.

For your information, commercially available blue laser diode (the heart of Bluray) from Sharp sells at over $80 a piece in Japan. So the price of $400 for Play Station 3 is not too bad. Note: Sony licensed blue laser diode technology from Nichia and makes their own blue laser diodes for all Sony's Bluray machines. At mass production, Sony's cost for blue laser diode could be less than $80 a piece.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Home Theater Masterpiece
I purchased this PS3 to take full advantage of our new 1080p LCD HDTV with the Blu-Ray capabilities. I've done that and THEN some. This thing has turned in to a central part of our home theater. Not only can you of course play the awesome PS3 games available, either at 720p or 1080p, depending on the game, but you have Blu-Ray movies (plus regular DVD upscaling), living room internet access, free demos and trailers via the PlayStation store. Also it has the ability to stream music, videos, and digital photos from our home computer upstairs via the wireless network. I can't say enough how fantastic and fun the PlayStation 3. It's truly a masterpiece.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - NOT PS2 COMPATIBLE!!!
READ THE FINE PRINT!! We just spent $500 on ONE GAME! Console, $400, extra controller, $50, game, $50. Now we leanred it will not play our old games. We never would have bought it if we had known!
