I just recently bought a ps3 from a friend of mine. all i can say is that the ps3 is amazing and at first i was a loyal 360 enthusiast. the ps3 stays cool while playing for hours, it runs games very smooth with little to no slow down and the online functions are easy to use and the ps3 has wifi built in. when both the ps3 and 360 first came out i said the 360 is the future and the ps3 is a $600 paper weight.....i was very very wrong. my 360 died cause of the red ring of death i got it fixed, traded it in and bought a ps3 and never looked back. here are a list of great games for the ps3 in case anyone needs proof.
rachet and clank
resistance
mgs4
virtua tennis 3
virtua fighter 5
heavenly sword
folklore
soul calibur 4 (darth vader version)
devil may cry 4
coming soon
ff13
ffvs13
tekken 6
a few of these titles may be on 360 as well but the ps3 will just run them better

I bought the PS3 to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. games and movies. I just wasn't ready for 1080 resolution. Holy cow!! Anything else is just too horrible to watch. Sony, you're the best.

I guess I didn;t the the fine print enough, because I didn;t realize til I got his all hooked up that the 40GB PS3 is not backward compatible with any PS2 games. I am sending this back and paying the extra $50 to get the 60GB model, which is backward compatible.

I won't repeat what others say so I'll be unique.
+++PRO: I plugged in my Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. it's awesome! my friend in Texas said he could see me clearly. I'm really excited that my webcam works with the PS3, as I've heard some don't.
---CON: Netflix's "Watch Instantly" feature doesn't work on here. The browser on the PS3 isn't compatible with Netflix. Now I can't watch movies online through Netflix, so I'll have to shell out another $99 for a Roku player and add another black box near my otherwise clean, modern style home theater system. 'twould be nice if the PS3 could negotiate a deal with Netflix then include the modification in their next system update...
Overall, it's fantastic. It's freakin' fantastic.

I have a 360 and a PS3, which i bought only so i could play metal gear solid. I know i spent $500 just to play one game, pathetic, but oh well.
There is this one reviewer to says a PS3 would be a cheaper choice than a 360. He's wrong because:
He forgot to mention that the Xbox 360 has a wireless controller in the box that actually VIBRATES. To get this on the PS3, you need to dish out fifty bucks. Oh and he forgot to mention that the PS3 comes with NO HI-DEF cables, so to watch those movies in hi-def that nobody does anyways, you need to dish out $20 for some PS3 component cables or an HDMI cable. Then he forgets to mention NO HEADSET, which the 360 comes with, no ETHERNET cable, which the 360 comes with.
So lets compare:
PS3- $400
Vibrating controller: $55
Component Cables: $20
Ethernet Cable: $10
Headset: $25
TOTAL: $510
XBOX 360: $350
Vibrating Controller: FREE/INCLUDED
Component cables: FREE/INCLUDED
Ethernet Cable: FREE/INCLUDED
Headset: FREE/INCLUDED
Wireless: $90 on amazon
So Xbox 360: $440, PS3: $510
And for those of you who are going to tell me that the PS3 has a 40GB HDD, then:
Fine buy an Xbox 360 Elite. It has a 120GB HDD, and you only pay $100 more. And this 360 includes an HDMI cable.
So in the end: Xbox 360 120GB: $540
PS3: $510
Thirty bucks more for 120gb vs 40gb. Hmm? Need i say more?
And before we get into the blu ray argument again, honestly how many people have abandoned regular $10 DVDs for $25 dollar blu-ray discs?
The 360 also upscales to 1080p if you use HDMI...
PS3 is good, but only for one game: Metal Gear Solid 4. Every other game is better on 360. I mean call of duty 4 doesn't even vibrate with the new controller because when it was being developed, there was no dualshock 3!!
Just buy a 360 if you want to save money...
Also, the 360 may not be 100% backwards compatible with XBOX original games, but at least it has a good rate with a number of titles out there. This 40GB PS3 can play ZERO, NO PS2 games at all. Apparently the engineers at sony can't even program this famed "cell processor" to emulate a 300Mhz PS2 CPU.
So there you have it. There are also many websites on google that show the graphics comparison between the two same games on the two different consoles. I'll leave you to guess which one has better graphics.
