After days of searching reviews for a Blu-ray player, I stumble on Amazon to discover a game machine is actually considered THE best format for watching a High Def DVD! We watch a new NetFlix DVD every single night on it with NO problems. Only games I have played it it were the free demos we downloaded off it's internet capabilities for FREE. Save yourself a lot of heartache, just buy this and relax. Have to get back to my movies now....

I bought this to play Blu Ray movies on my new 1080P Samsung. Works great, and very quiet, contrary to the Xbox 360 which is very loud. I have not played games on the Sony since I did not buy it for that but I am sure it is good for that as well.

I've owned a 360 but i sold it for this. I'm not sorry either, this is an AMAZING console, the best out there. Tons of fun. It holds all my music and movies. BUY.

I had to cancel my order since after 17 days and I still had not received the game.

I bought this primarily for watching Blu Ray movies and so far it has delivered.
There are a few gripes though -
1) Not resuming the movie from the point last viewed.
2) Bluetooth remote, thus making a Universal unable to control the PS3.
Overall it has been a great buy especially since a stand-alone Blu Ray player sells for approx. same amount.
