Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Gets the job done but watch out for the BRIGHT LIGHT!!!!
Let's be honest. It's a bummer that the PS3 has to be on constantly with an ugly USB cable sticking out the front for the controllers to charge. That seems like an oversight on a pretty cool system. Which brings us to the need for something else that will charge up the controllers when you're not playing and the system is off. Great. This does the job nicely. There's a nice little USB insert that sticks into the back of the controller and makes charging so simple.

But I've got to knock off a star because the lights on this thing are so bright, it's like having a small TV on in the room. I don't need a nightlight in my living room. And these lights are very bright. My simple solution was to tape over the lights a few times. I'm just hoping it doesn't catch my house on fire. What else can you do? Seriously, it's that bright.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Charge Base
This is a great charge base for the controllers. It's fast and combine with the PS3. The base has an easy method to plug-in the controllers with out the need of connecting the mini-usb port directly to the base, it has an adapter that you connect to the controller and then put the controller on the base. The controllers fit very well in the base. I like this charger base, fast access to the controller, fast charging, great look.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - PS3 Necessary
Sony should just include a charging stand like this with the PS3.

If you just bought a PS3, then maybe you haven't realized what a pain it is to charge your controllers. This desktop charger means not having to leave your PS3 on. It means not having to find the USB cable. It means being able to put the stand next to your couch. And best of all, you can use the charger base to store your controllers, even when you're not charging them.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Great idea, poorly executed
This product as a great idea, but the actual execution is poor. The controllers have difficulty making contact with the charger base. Additionally, the indicator lights show green for a fully-charged controller *or* if the controller isn't making contact - you can't tell which is which. There's no labeling on the lights to indicate which goes with which controller. Additionally, no documentation is included. I'll help you out here:

* Green = controller is charged *or* no controller connected.
* Red = controller is charging.
* Flashing Green / Red = controller is turned on, must be turned off in order to charge.

It's too bad - with some slightly better manufacturing this product would be perfect.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Does what is supposed to do.
One star for fun, because I am not the kind of person who likes sitting in front of a gadget and watch it charge its battery, but if you are so inclined, this is the device for you!!!

It does what is meant to do, nothing more, it has 2 flaws though, first, there is no on/of switch, the lights are way too bright, and they never go off, so you have to unplug it at night, unless you're the kind of person that sleeps with a nightlight on.

The second flaw is related, they say on the video that the cord is detachable, so in theory, you could detach the cord and be done with.

Well, I almost ripped the cord trying to detach it before I found out that in order to detach the cord you have to remove a cover where a square transformer is lodged, and attached to that transformer the cord you actually detach is.

So, its easier to pull the plug than detach the cord, which I really don't see a use for this way.

So 3 stars because it does what is meant to, but could be a lot better.
