I definitely enjoyed using the eye. The mic on isn't that great because I keep it near my tv and it picks up a lot of feedback, but overall its a decent accessory to go with Burnout or any PS3 game that requires a cam

The new PS Eye is absolutely awesome. The quality of the product ,to the price,is amazing! The microphones work flawlessly and the Subtle zoom feature is quite helpful! there is already a number of things on the PlayStation Network to use the camera and MUCH more to come this year! I Highly recommend the PS Eye to ANYONE tha is even slightly interested! it is completely worth the money!

I bought the Aquatopia game from the Playstation Network for $1.99 because I wanted an aquarium display. But Aquatopia requires the Eye. But beyond that, not really sure what this is good for.

First of all, I have bought a multi-tude of products from Amazon, and this is the first time I felt the need to review a product. I was excited about the idea of the PS3 Eye, and waht could be done with it. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting Wii results as far as range and movement, but I was very disappointed with the choppy game play. I downloaded some games specifically designed for the Eye from the Playsation Store. The camera didn't catch my movements very well, and seemed to pick up what it wanted to pick up. I agree with other reviewers about the poor quality of video, although its mic seemed to function well. If your looking for bad webcam quality, then this is the one for you. Maybe Sony will catch up with Nintendo, and put out a quality movement capture system, but not at this point.

The PS3 Eye is a good addition if you play lots of online games and don't have a lot of other noise in the house. The camera function is good and I imagine there will be more uses for it in the future as PS3 online expands. That having been said- don't expect any miracles of quality. It is at best a very mediocre web cam. Highly sensitive to lighting conditions, poor resolution, poor picture/contrast. The microphone seems to be pretty good though. I would buy it again, but make sure your expectations are in line with what you'll be getting if you choose to buy it.
