Rating:
- Way overpriced and cheaply manufactured
First off, I would like to state that the game itself is very cool. The fun factor is great. My brother and I bought this game yesterday, and have already played it for several hours. The song list is exceptional and so are the actual recordings. Here's the problem. When I first started playing I was fine. I bumped up to medium difficulty and at first was still fine. When I started missing notes earlier today, I just chalked it up to my own personal error. After reading reviews and testing it myself, I found that it is not entirely me! In many cases, I would strum once but the game would register two strums, or it might not even strum at all. Overall, the guitar is cheaply manufactured and severely flawed. Out of the box it didn't even work. After calling the help line, we were told to use compressed air to blow it out. They claim that dust sometimes gets into the guitar from the factory! I'm sorry, an electronics factory should not have that much dust blowing around for obvious reasons. It worked (for a while). According to many other reviewers, the drums pedal is also prone to breaking. Although that has not happened yet, judging by the quality of the guitar, it is only a matter of time.
These problems are very irritating. For a price tag of [...] these problems should not exist. We couldn't even use the guitar, drums, and microphone all at once because EA/Harmonix didn't see it necessary to include the hub needed to use all of them at once on the 80gig PS3. The problems and seemingly ill-thought-out design ruins the game for me. We are going to call corporate and try to get our money back for the product. I would suggest that anyone else having similar problems do the same. Game makers need to realize that with higher price tags come much higher standards and expectations. If people become more proactive about these problems, companies will be forced to fix the problems.
