I loved my Ps2, I loved it like a baby, but, my baby died. It started teking longer and longer to read the game, then it started freezing over and over, causing me to lose any progress on my game. For christmas I got a Xbox 360, and I am so very glad I did, I cannot belive that I thought that the Ps2 was Tech, when there was the Xbox, Oh, the wonderful xbox. With the comfortable controllers, great graphics, and fun games, why anyone would still buy a new Ps2. Just my opinion, but the Ps2 is still okay, but if you are a serious gamer, seriously consider a xbox 360 instead.

It's very strange somehow nobody review this model of the PS2 has an overheating problem, i live in a tropical country so maybe that may be the reason that this system some how overheats and stop working, the older bigger model did not give me any problems, but! this new slim line. It'sucks! big time. Sony WONDER if they ever catered for international export? that's the question, anyhow! i would not advise you to buy this if you live in the Caribbean, you are just wasting money or be prepared to invest in a mini fan laters folks.

If you looking for a Gaming console this might not be a very good one to start on. I've owned many consoles over the years and the ps2 in my opinion is the worst. Although they have some nice games you cant play on other systems its just too annoying having them break all the time. out of all the systems I've had the ps2 is the only one to ever really break. I've owned 2 of them so far and they have both broken, were on the other hand i've only owned one xbox, gamecube, and 360 and none of them have broken yet. So what im trying to say is that a ps2 is not worth the money over any other system out i dont even want to buy a ps3 because my friend has had his for 3 months and its already been fixed two times. try checking out a 360 or regular xbox before wasting money on a ps2.

I haven't played video games since the early eighties on, what at the time, was the game console to have. The Atari. Thought it was time to get with the times. I am so amazed at how far games have come and this is a great/affordable system. The temptation was to get the PS3. However it's a bit expensive and for someone getting back into video games I didn't see the need for all the bells and whistles right now. Plus the games a lot more expensive than PS2.
The unit is small and streamline and plays DVD's very well.
I would recommend this system to any 'oldie' like myself who wants to step into the 21st century of gaming.

I'm glad to recomend this product to buy it, the PS2 slim console is a great product, not only works as a game console but as a dvd player too. Excellent product and great satisfaction.
