Even though I haven't played that many shooter games, this is the best one I've ever played. It's a lot better than the first Battlefront and a whole lot of fun to play. However, there still are a few cons you might want to know about. Here's a list of pros and cons for Star Wars Battlefront 2:
Pros:
- The graphics are a lot better than the first Battlefront.
- New soldier types to play as such as the Rebel Bothan Spies and Imperial Officers.
- There are playable locations from the first game like Hoth and Endor but you can also play on new locations from Revenge of the Sith like Mustafar, the Jedi Temple, and Felucia.
- You can now play as heroes and villains like Obi-Wan and General Grievous.
- There is also one campaign mode that follows the story line as the Republic slowly transforms in to the Empire.
- Last, but not least, you can play in space with classic starfighters like X-Wings and TIE Fighters or with new ships like ARC-170's and Droid Tri-Fighters.
Now, after this loooong list of pros, to get to the "Dark Side" of the game with the...
Cons:
- The disc is not very durable, if you get a few scratches on it, that could make the campaign mode unplayable and sometimes the gameplay and cut scenes will freeze, and the music might skip too.
- The AI enemies and even allies are not very intelligent.
- If you're a hard core Star Wars fan, you may notice that some of the heroes and villans are out of place like how you can play as Darth Maul during the Clone Wars even though he died before then.

I think Star Wars Battlefront II is awesome. You can play on the usual planets like Hoth and Endor, but this game has new planets to fight on from Revenge of the Sith! Suck as Mygeeto, Felucia, Courascant etc. Also you can play as the Jedi! For the light side, there is Mace Windu, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Ki-Adi Mundi, Aalya Secura, Obi-wan, and then you can play as Minor heroes such as Han Solo, Princess Leia, and others. For the Dark side you have Darth Maul, Vader, Sidious, Dooku, Jango and Boba Fett. You can also play in space! For example, you can play as the clones and pilot an Arc 170 Starfighter, Jedi starfighter, And a V-Wing fighter. the Really cool thing is that you can play
Capture the flag Star Wars version! But the voices saying THE EMPIRE NOW HAS THE FLAG get annoying because everyone kills each other and gets the flag. This game is rated T, but not bloody. Really I think this game should be 8 and up.

This game is one of the funnest you can buy for PS2. Its a great shooter game thats not rated mature. Its really easy to pick up and in a couple of hours you will be really good at it. Theres lots of charatcers to play as like jedi, sith, wookies,rebels and so on. I also like the hunt games. In hunt games you get to play as local creatues and have battles. Example in hoth you get to be mighty wampas and you can crush the rebels. Or on mos Esilsy you can have tusken raiders vs. the little jawas. On Geonosis its the geonosians with sonic blasters vs. clone sharpsooters(snipers). The only reason i gave this game a 4 overall is that the campaign is short and i think you should be able to have more one on one jedi fights. There are many great features like global conquest in which you take over the galaxy with a certain faction. This game rocks and i would reccomend everyone get this, even if your not the best shooter(you will get better)

The Jedi additions are outstanding. Better game feel and play but the flying can be challenging. Not sure if I am not yet used to it but it is taking some time getting used to it to be able to fly and understand how to avoid death.

I am extreamly dissapointd with this game. Every section and mission is exactly the same with the exception of the location. There is absolutly no skill involved in beating the game which i was able to do in 3 sittings.
