i am a BIG fan of grand theft auto and i gotta say this is the BEST ONE EVER!!!!! i mean you can fly airplanes make the charater look the way you want him to(and yes you can still pick up hookers and when you do it the car shakes and you can hear them) i give it a 5 outta 5

I will write a guide but this is just a summary on why this game is great.
For starters, this is quite possibly the best game ever made for the PS2. It has a completly real feel even if it includes very mature content. I will do my best to give the pros and cons.
Pros- boy, is their a lot of them. The reason I bought this game is because it has the most realistic feel about it. It includes huge cities to quiant towns. Rockstar(the maker of the game) models most of the scenery to real places in america, from Nevada's desertous feel to the streets of LA. Altough just having such a realistic map that covers a vast area, it's more about the ability to control your character. You can take him to many different shops, Including 3 different clothing lines, a baber shop, a tatto shop, different types of gyms, Fast-food places that serve burgers, pizza, and chicken, clubs, bars, and casinos, all with mini-game like pool, poker, and dancing, gun shops- which are nessesary for the violence in the game, you can even go into police staions, Airports, and hospitals. Whats more is that by doing this you can have a different effect on your character, like becoming fat or thin. In doing such you gain attrubuites like respect, stamina, muscle, sex appeal, weapon skill, driving skill, even the ability to dive underwater. Not only can you buy different things, but you can drive boats, cars, and fly airplanes. The missions are just the cherry on top. They have belivable charcters, even with the outlandish storyline.
Cons- there is only one problem I had with this game- the graphics. The characters regulaly look like blocks or squares. It's easy to get over that.
So, in essence, if you are over 18, and don't already have this game, BUY IT!!

i thought this game was GREAT!! i have played it up untill this point. and why??? because the missions are SOO hard(even with the cheat codes).. i stoped playing the game when CJ needed to learn how to fly to get his brother out of jail.. it takes me nearly 3 houres to pass one D*** test. is it just me, or do these missions get harder and harder as they go.. i know a good game gets harder, but this is rediculous (no offence to people who like this game)..
this was a very addicting game, and i loved it.. if your looking to buy this game, PLEASE DO SO!!!!!! just because i have a bad opinion doesnt mean its a bad game because its not (hinch, i gave this game 5 stars)

Grand theft auto emerged out of the blue as one of gamings greatest series with gta 3.] gta 3 unlike the first two 2 bit era top down low gameplay outings was a massive 3d colusus of a game with more gameplay than you can shake a stick at. fully 3d graphics and immersive story elements. vice city expanded the formula with better graphics storyline scenarios and a wider assortment of things to do plus a hero or antihero that actaully talked. it was thought that vice citys huge vareity and adventurte couldnt be toped. but after playing san andreas i know it was. this latest incarnation is quite simply zelda with guns. theres so much to do in this game that i could never finish telling you everything. the missions range from racing fast cars to engaging in sword battles to very memorable and intense shootouts. troughout the game you will make all the decisions that you would expect from an rpg. youll gain several diffrent abilities that you can enhance and this will be very helpful to your progress in the game. you can workout to stay in shape or you can just eat fast food and not do excercise which will you know the choice is there. you can also buy clothes and customize your characther cj to your liking. the police ai is great troughout the game just like in vice city but now you have more weapons to start trouble with. san ndreas features over 30 weapons ludicrusly powerful guns like the smg. ak 47. shotgun. assault rifle. pistol. sniper rifle. and an awesome rocketlauncher. plus some great mellee weapons like the katana sword police batons and standard baseball bats. the missions are incredibly exciting involving casino heists. house robberies. memorable shootouts and some truly outstanding stealth missions. the missions are so varied youll never become bored unlike in some cases where you just repeat the same motion over and over again. the game is also huge cotaining 3 cities and a contry side overall the game world is adleast triple or so the size of vice city and then some. the graphics still arent that great but youll certainly be impressed by little details such as the spur of heat on a sunny dayor the way the buildings light up with neon colors during the night. the voice acting is exceptionial making the game even more worth playing. youll immediatly be sucked into the role of cj and all the other characthers are so cool youll immediatly fall in love with them. this latest installment of gta impressed me. the endless exciting missions. great characthers, satisfying weapons and complelling story all add up to ps2s finest game yet. if you dont already have a ps2 its worth buying one just to play this game. and if you do have already have a ps2 then youd be a fool to not play san andreas.
