At this point in late 2008, Playstation 2 is nothing new. However, this is the first time I have had to replace my controller (I finally wore the other one out!). I ordered two recently at a great sale price (I ended up with two units for the price of 1 regularly. Free Super Saver Shipping was the icing on the cake.) I tried out a couple of generic controllers at a retail store recently and the buttons feel very cheap and less sensitive than these. I really couldn't image ever using another controller with my Playstation 2. It was incredible to experience a new controller after all of this time - absolute perfection for my gaming needs!

The PlayStation 2 Dualshock Controller Black is simply a must own devices for those who are purchasing PS2 bundles this holiday season. While some newer generation game systems have controllers that have improved slightly or added functionality, for the PS2 this original controller is still one of the better options. And since, unfortunately, Sony has only included 1 controller with most bundles, you will inevitably HAVE to purchase an extra controller anyway. So it might as well be the one the system was designed with.
There are other color options available such as blue. Those with special white bundles may have a tougher time finding an extra white one to match. Regardless, in terms of utitliy thi is a unit that must be added. There's nothing more annoying than not having an extra on hand when guests arrive.
So if you're buying one of the holiday PS2 bundles, pick one of these up as well.

What can I say, it's an original PS2 Control, everything I need to play hours and hours of my favorite games.

Though only a handful of Playstation2 games require two or more players, is always best to keep an extra set of controllers at home.
They are long lasting, and can withstand some minor abuse such as falls on the floor, or the anger of a young frustrated player who tossed it away after loosing a round.
SONY made these in other colors, and I'm glad they went beyond the basic black, and included this ocean blue and the gray, and a few others. This one has some transparency so you can see a little bit inside.SONY's design is made for the human hands and is very comfortable after hours of gameplay, unlike Nintendo's design on their Gamecube controllers, this one feels natural in your hands.
This color is very appealing as it not too dark or too clear. If blue is your favorite color, like mine, get one!

Really liked the product. It was original and top quality.
I brutally use it and its still alive and kicking after months.
