Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Nice package!
This is a nice package of my two favorite Final Fantasy games: Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy V.

Final Fantasy V has never seen release here and I feel that the translation was both well done and sensitive to the original Japanese version. Final Fantasy VI has been restored to its original glory in this version and it's a nice change to see uncensored graphics and the original "Final Fantasy VI" title with Tina(Terra) in Magitek armor.

I highly recommend this collection!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Final Fantasy Anthology
I love this game I had it for SNES and it is one of my favorites

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - "Greatest Hits" version is lackluster.
Don't get me wrong, both games in Anthology are excellent. I would consider Final Fantasy VI, to be the greatest RPG ever created. But the "Greatest Hits" version of this package does dissapoint.

The original black label version of Anthology was created by SquareSoft, and included in the package was an extra CD, with music from both games.

However, the black label edition has been out-of-print for some time. The newly formed company, Square-Enix decided to re-release Anthology as a "Greatest Hits", but excluded the music CD in the package. So, instead of receiving three disks (the two gaming disk, and one music CD), only the two game disks are included with the game.

The Square-Enix release of Anthology feels much more like a cheap cut-and-paste copy of Final Fantasy. Besides lack of the music CD, much of the artwork from the previous black label release is gone, and instead, the gaming disks are designed with a standard white label.

Final Fantasy Anthology from Square-Enix, is certainly not a collector's item, despite what the package label might say. It is my suggestion to pass this purchase up, and find a copy of the black label release from SquareSoft.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Probably The Best Game I Ever Owned For The PS1
I love RPG's, especially the Final Fantasy series. Though there are a few games in the legendary series that I'm not a huge fan of, I do like the older ones, especially for the Super Nintendo. Thanks to Square (now known as SquareEnix) many gamers get to relive the old glory of the series, with the amazing Final Fantasy VI, and the previously unreleased Final Fantasy V.
FF5 was never released in the states officialy but Squaresoft (now called SquareEnix) has unleashed it upon us all. It's story isn't the greatest but it's not about story here; it's all about gameplay. This is the main reason that this is my favourite in the series. The job class is indepth and gives you a lot of options here. This improves upon the already great job class of FF3 (not FF6) and only comes insecond to the job class system found in Dragon Warrior 3 and Dragon Warrior 7. I also like the size if this game, there are three different worlds here and they are all good size. I also love the main villian's name, X-Death, and his final form and name, Neo X-Death. There are a lot more good things that make this game great but I'll let you discover them.
FF6 is also a solid game and introduced some of the things that would be found in later FF games. One thing is the indepth stories and multiple characters to play with. Even though a lot fans like to say that FF7 had got the best villian in the series, I and many others dissagree. Kefka is jst pure evil incarnate. I'm not going into details so you yourself will have to find all the little things that make him such the awesome bad guy that he is. It's just a great game. If you don't mind 2-D graphics, and old games, then do yourself a favoure and get this fine set now.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - nothing else can touch it...
FFVI is the end-all best game ever created. The story line is simply out of this world. The game grips you from the beginning and never lets go. The interaction between the main characters is incredible. The game creates the most haunting mood of any game ever released, despite the now primitive graphics and sound. I have gone years without playing the game before but the story, environments, villains and even some of the music would still stand out in my mind. This game simply leaves an impression on you unlike any other video game ever could.
After playing through it, every other game out there just seems void of content. No other Final Fantasy installment can touch this one (FFVII is a distant second). This will likely remain the best game ever created unless it is completely remade with today's technology, but even that is questionable as the SNES graphics give an incredible atmosphere to the game anyway.

My only complaint with this particular title is the result of its adaption to the Playstation. The new cinema cut scenes do not come even remotely close to doing this game justice. Some of the sound didn't carry over well either, and the addition of load times isn't exactly a welcome one. Despite these shortcomings, it's still the complete game, which is all that matters.
FFVI was absolutely breathtaking in every aspect when it was released, and remains so to this day. The story, the music, the characters and the gameplay are still better than anything today's games have to offer. Anyone who has yet to experience this incredible adventure is only keeping themselves from one of the most engaging stories ever.
