Rating: - Great Notebook mouse.....Nano receiver is a MUST
O.K. after purchasing and using a Microsoft wireless notebook mouse for several weeks....I realized that I had to have a smaller receiver, better control on soft surfaces, an easier way to turn the mouse on and off, and was hoping for a longer battery life. This mouse advertised all of these things...I'll have to let you know in a few months about the battery life. All the other things are really great. I love the nano receiver and believe it is a must have for actual laptop use. The receiver is a tiny little thing and just barely sticks out of the side of my laptop. This is a major improvement than the other receiver type that stick out so far and for me were constantly bumped into everything (this happened enough that I became afraid that I was gonna mess up my USB port). This mouse works on all the the surfaces I have tried (including on top of the blanket that I keep covering my oversize chair and the large rounded arm of same chair. I also like the fact that I can keep it plugged in all the time, instead of plugging and unplugging the other one. Turning it off/on is super easy and should help me conserve battery. The only thing I don't totally love, is the basic form...I wished it was better molded to my hand in stead of quite so flat, but it's still comfortable, just not as comfortable to me as some of the more molded mice are. I haven't tried the dock yet...but it should be a plus not to wonder where to put my mouse when my laptop is not in use. Overall, this was more expensive than my first mouse..by double...though you can probably get a better price if you shop around and buy it here...but totally worth it. I would confidently suggest this to anyone. Other couch/bed/chair lap users...whatever mouse you buy...you MUST have a nano receiver...don't waste your money on a mouse with a regular sized receiver like I did. Happy Shopping

The Logitech V550 is a dream to use. The size and weight are perfect. The mouse operates well on many types of surfaces. As advertised the USB radio can remain installed without interfering with the storage of the laptop. The small tab that provides the ability to park the mouse on the laptop is a clever and useful idea. I definitely recommend this mouse for both fixed and mobile operation.

I received one of these just recently and LOVE it. The two top features are definitely the tiny tiny plug in and forget it receiver, and the dock button. I used a corded mouse for years on my notebooks because I knew if I had one with the long receiver sticking out, it wouldn't last long considering how much I carry this thing around. The dock button is one of those things that you just wonder WHY someone didn't come up with sooner. As far as it coming loose, I don't see how the *direction* the mouse slides on makes ANY difference for that. You can slide it in *up*wards or down anyway... I am not sure what the big deal about THAT is. It fits very snugly. Another really nice feature is that when you clip it onto the button, it turns off the mouse, saving battery power. The mouse itself has a nice feel to it and has just enough heft that it doesn't feel cheaply made. It has a good solid feel to it.

Outstanding product! I am a field service technician and use my laptop all the time at different customer sites. I am constantly packing and unpacking the computer. Two really great things. The mouse works EVERYWHERE. The mouse travels well. Bonus is when I pack to leave, I clip it onto the laptop and I don't forget it at the account! I was considering a blue-tooth mouse, but my laptop would need an upgrade for blue-tooth. The mini-usb connector on the v550 is so small it does not interfer with anything. The 3 year warrantly is a big plus also.

I really like this mouse but it could be much better if:
:: is connected via bluetooth... My notebook has just two usb ports... will be better to connect wirelessly!!!
:: the wheel is not working as a clicker... you can not click the wheel to open a new tab in browser :(((((
:: it is very useful to have the mouse on your screen notebook clipped but it doesnt really look good on my awesome mac! you can not re-use the clipper :(
