Rating: - To think I almost missed this game..
Wow, for a game this good it's almost unforgivable how there's been such a lack of promotions or advertisements. Plenty of other people have reviewed it here and I won't repeat most of it again suffice to say that this is hands down the best PS3 game of all time. This gem slipped into the stores so quietly that I almost missed it had it not been for the fervent recommendations of people who's played it everywhere. I almost want to purchase multiple copies just to support this game. Everyone, please support this game and spread the word so that there will be a sequel to this amazing game! It's a definite "can't miss!"
Rating: - Tactical Strategy game of the year
I can't stand anime, I am often irritated by the cutesy story presented in Valkyria Chronicles, but the gameplay is so addicting and deep I can't stop playing it. Probably one of my most favorite games of the last 2 years.
Rating: - Excellent strategic roleplaying game
Valkyria Chronicles blends real time elements into a turn-based system and it results in fun game where you never feel rushed, but isn't as slow as traditional turn-based games.
The combat is great as many elements come into play. Positioning, unit type, objectives, orders and even the individual character traits all influence the battle. Better yet, I beat the game despite skipping most of the side quests and skirmishes. That's right, grinding is unnecessary in this game.
I love the presentation and the story of the game every bit as much as the gameplay. The sketchbook look and pseudo-European backdrop makes Valkyria Chronicles one of the most artistically beautiful games on the PS3. The characters are lovable and make a decent story, an engrossing story.
This is easily one of the best single player experience on the PS3 and a must have for jrpg (and especially srpg) fans.
Rating: - A Must-Buy for Strategy RPG fans !!!
I don't think I need to write a long review to confirm what other reviewers had written. This game is great from every aspects, visual, audio, and gameplay. I haven't found any J-strategy RPG this great since Final Fantasy Tactics. (Sorry, Disgaea fans. Disgaeas are good, but this one is better.)
The only thing I regret about this buy is that Amazon sold it for $49.99 for a while and I didn't get it :P But for $56.99, its quality worths every penny. I'm a die-hard JRPG fan and this game keeps me from strangling myself for not buying X360.
Keep it up Sega :)
Rating: - Fantastic
This game is absolutely fantastic. It's made by Overworks the same people who made the excellent Skies of Arcadia. The other reviews are already doing this game justice, so I'll just say this: if you have a PS3 and like any kind of RPG you need to play this game.
