Rating: - Good game!
It's very different from the other Harvest Moon games, but equally as good!!! Some things in the game are tedious and repetitive, but its still pretty good!
Rating: - Innocent Life
I was shocked to realize that I had missed an installment of the Harvest Moon universe so I had to pick up Innocent Life. While it is very different from the other harvest moon games, the differences are interesting enough to keep you captivated.
The controls take a while to get used to. Mainly select is triangle instead of X except when you're getting into storage boxes...then it's O for some weird reason.
The story is good: Save the Island from blowing up. No biggie.
What I liked was not being confined to the town anymore. There is a whole island to explore and you get a dune buggy and tent to do it with! There are even a sort "dungeons" with small puzzles to solve to advance through.
What I didn't like was you don't have to take care of your animals other than brushing them...and even then you don't really have to do that. Animals take a huge backseat in this game...they're almost pointless really. I also hated the Bas&ket Rail system. (yeah that's how it's spelled) It's supposed to work like a train set...I could never make it work well enough to justify using, but that could just be me.
All in all it's a great game. Different from all the other harvest moons by far, but still a good game in your own right. I think it's a nice addition and a breath of fresh air to farming life!
Rating: - PS2: Innocent Life
This is a fun Harvest Moon game which has a slightly
different plot then previous Harvest Moon games. I love
these games as you can play them over and over again and
try to make more money on each attempt.
Rating: - Standard Harvest Moon Adventure.
There are two camps of people: those who love the 'Harvest Moon' franchise, and those who make fun of us who love the 'Harvest Moon' franchise, and there really isn't any room in-between.
"Innocent Life" is a pretty standard, almost sub-par version of the story that we are all familiar with, but with a few twists. New to this hybrid is a futuristic storyline where you are playing as a robot in an island full of mystery and technology. You start out the game living in some ancient ruruns, but with a lot of new technology.
And this new spin is interesting, but it isn't enough to carry the game. Old things such as festivals, courtship/marriage, and even fishing have been left at the wayside to make room for unusual robots, quirky spells, and the like.
While its not a horrible trip to the "innocent life" its definately not compelling as other recent installments such as "rune factory" and "magical melody".
