For PlayStation 2 console model numbers SCPH-30001 and SCPH-35001, you will need a copy of the DVD remote control software disc and a Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation® 2). If you already own the IR receiver (and software disc where necessary), the ?Open/Close' and ?Reset' buttons on the remote will not function.

This thing is great. It works with the built in IR reciever in the PS2. It makes watching movies a breeze without having to get up to use the regular controller. Great item. Should have gotten one a long time ago.

I love this remote. It has made playing my games and watching my dvd's alot easier on my ps2. It works great on my ps2 as my console is the newer model. It does not work on the older ones just the newer ones. Great buy! Very Happy!

This is very convenient for your playstation. It not only works to turn it on when your playstation power button breaks but is also good for viewing DVD's.

This remote is invaluable if you want to play movie DVDs on a PS2. Just make sure you have a newer model of PS2 with the built-in IR port. Otherwise you need to buy the remote that comes with a receiver for the console. I would give this item 5 stars if it could be programmed for my non-Sony equipment as well.
