Product Description:
Sony MDR-G57G Street Style(R) S2 Sports Headphones - These headphones take the headband off your head and move it to rest comfortably behind your neck. Though developed for use with all Sony Walkman(R) personal stereo players, they'll deliver top-quality sound from virtually any brand of portable stereo. They're also a good choice for use with an iPod or portable MP3 player, especially on the street. Because these headphones don't fully insulate you from street sounds, they're safer for use in crowded urban areas where certain sounds are alerts to help guarantee your safety. With a secure, non-slip fit, these headphones are ideal for a variety of outdoor (and indoor) sports activities. Superb sound, stressless comfort, outstanding mobility, exceptional freedom - that's the philosophy behind these Street Style(R) S2 Sports Headphones. It makes sense. Amazon.com Product Description:
These Street Style headphones employ the comfortable and stable behind-the-neck design. They have a non-slip design, making them ideal for exercise or for a walk to the corner market. To encourage safe night-time activities, the MDR-G57Gs come with a reflective ear piece. They are also water-resistant, completing the necessary checklist for full-function sports headphones. The behind-the-neck style is also appropriate for urban and casual wear; remember that with this style you can wear a hat while wearing the headphones. The MDR-G57Gs were designed for extended wear, and, weighing in at under two ounces, you may indeed forget you are wearing headphones.

Sony has installed several technical features to the headphones to ensure a quality listening experience. The thirty millimeter drive units are large for portable headphones, and deliver deep bass, low distortion and a wide frequency response range (16 - 20,000 Hz). Sony's Acoustic Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizying sound chamber and duct technology. Ferrite magnets give the headphones solid energy at a minimal size and weight, while the oxygen-free copper cord provides high conductivity and minimum noise. The gold-plated stereo mini-plug makes sure that sound is transported fully and accurately. The gold-plated treatment also helps resist corrosion and supports the headphones' high conductivity and low noise. The five foot long, single-sided cord is plenty long for active pursuits. Replacement earpads are included.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Decent headphones for running, working out
These headphones are good enough for working out. The sound quality is acceptable for the price. They are a little tight around the ears for prolonged use (over 45 minutes). I like the added safety of the reflective ear piece when running outside.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - headphones
Sound was good but too hot on the ears for exercising in the gym. I switched to the in ear headphones.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Hurts your ears, sound is good
I got these to try and kill my hearing more slowly than earbud headphones, but these headphones are really uncomfortable. After about a half hour of wearing them, I get a headache because they are pushing into the back part of my ears. Maybe I just have a weird-shaped head, but try and look somewhere else for headphones tat won't cause you physical pain.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good workout headphones
I use this primarily for running, workout or doing the dishes- it's light enough and water resistant, which makes it perfect for such purposes. However, like all behind ear headphones, they don't really block out noise that well, so take that into your consideration. As a Sony product headphone, the bass is quite good, though it can be a bit too much sometimes in my opinion. It can get a bit too snug too; I find myself readjusting them or taking them out every hour or so. Sound quality is not mind-blowing, but definitely solid for the price range.
Cord length is adequate for workout- a bit longer than I would like, but better than being short. For the record, I'm about five nine.

In short, you will be hard pressed to find a better workout headphone for the money.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good sound; tight phones
That's about it: the music sound good coming through these earphones.

But, damn, if they aren't tight. I often don't notice, but I really wish they were adjustable.
