Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A game for those who like to solve difficult puzzles.
I originally bought this game for my sons. They did not like it as well as I do because they like to jam through a game and not look around at everything. I really like the storyline, the graphics and the real time fighting.

You really have to look at things and read character comments because the puzzles are very difficult. I like this because like when you get to the end of a good book, if you finish a good RPG too fast, you are sorry that the story is over.

I did think that some of the gear was silly and made the characters look silly, like the hat that is a rabbit, but overall it was fun to try different combinations of armor and weapons to see how well they worked together and also how your character's look changed.

This game is for serious puzzle solvers and game players only.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - should not be aloud to be sold to anyone
This game is by far the worst game i have ever had the misfortune of playing. Forever Kingdom has the worst voice acting and fighting scenes EVER!!!! The opening movie has the main characters fighting a cripple and lossing. The music is annoying and redundant. The enemies are so umbelievaly stupid( monkeys and pigs with green spikes on their backs) when you buy extra clothing and armor for them they dont even touch their bodies, i mean the cape just floats around. The puzzles should be used as a test to find out whether your kids have some sort of mental disablilty. I strongly urge you not to buy rent or borrow this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A good and different RPG
A lot of people think that Forever Kingdom is a "so-so game," or " terrible", but in reality its nothing of the 2. Its a perfect blend of action and RPG mixed into one awsome story. Forever Kingdom is really cool in its own way.

The battles are real-time fighting, where you can control one of three characters at a time, switching to another at anytime during the game is also possible.

You buy weapons for better attacks and attributes, armor for defense and resistance to thunder, fire, earth, and ice elements, legs, helmets and accesaries, to mix and match your strengths and weaknesses. A cool thing about the armor system is that when you buy and equip new items, your styles change, and you look different.

Each one of your 3 characters has a special magic attack called Palmira Actions. You can Trigger these anywhere if you have the proper amount of Palmira Points to exacute them. You can equip different accesaries to activate different magic. You can also perform combo attacks when you exacute all 3 palmira actions at the proper time on an enemy, to recieve palmira crystals, used to upgrade your weapons and other armor to make your character stronger. (since you don't level up in this game, it is essential that you recieve these crystals to grow more powerful) You can recieve 3 colored crystals, blue, yellow, and red, with red being the most useful. Use them wisely....!

The puzzles in this game are X-TREMELY DIFFICULT!! You will have many problems with correcting them. But pay attention to clues around your area, so you can complete the puzzles. Note that sometimes you will need to be equiped with a certain item to pass a puzzle.....!

The voice acting in this game is also a nice touch. The beautiful landscapes are sometimes breathtaking!

The unique gameplay is awsome, characters too, mix'n'match outfits and almost real enviornments, this game is a real cool pic for RPGamers around. Just watch out for the puzzles, but sides that, this game is a must buy!!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - So-so action based RPG
While you wouldn't know it from the name, Forever Kingdom is the sequel to the so-so PS2 launch game, Evergrace. Forever Kingdom does improve upon the original in several ways, but not enough! The improvements are a bit like taking a step forward, then a step back.

The biggest change is the new three-character party. You can switch between Darius, Ruyan, and Faena, which is cool. What isn't cool is those three characters share a single lifebar. When one gets hurt, the other two get hurt. This makes no sense whatsoever; you get all the aggravations of a single-character system with none of the benefits a party system should provide. What's the point?

To be fair, the special combo attacks all three characters can perform together are kinda cool, since they are very damaging. However, the execution is so poor as to make it a moot point. The environments aren't very detailed and the combat is quite simplistic. I expect better crafted environments for the PS2, this looks like a first-generation game. The "music" is the worst I've ever heard in a game. Imagine 3 different orchestras playing 3 different tunes simultaneously, that's what this "noise" sounds like!

For those who liked Evergrace, this sequel probably won't disappoint. But for the rest of us, there are better RPGs out there. The story is pretty good and the puzzles are challenging. It's just that the rest of the game is so uninspired, it's more annoying than fun. I didn't really want to finish this one. It's very hard for an RPG to make me feel that way. RPGs are my favorite genre.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I would give this "0 stars" if I could
I rented this game with the best of intentions after thinking the box looked really cool. I was horribly disappointed. :( The intro was terrible with the worst "acting" I've seen since a high school play. The "voices" of the characters were so over the top and not believable at all. The graphics were not at a PS2 level. The story itself is fairly lame. After the intro, I tried to get used to the controls of the game and it just felt very awkward. I'm sorry if 5 minutes doesn't seem like enough time to rate a game, but it was so bad I couldn't take any more. I'm just glad I didn't buy it! If you want a real game, check out FINAL FANTASY X.
