Amazon.com Review: Digimon World 2 is a sequel to the original monster-training title, but this one is much more like a traditional role-playing game. It still retains the capture-the-monsters spirit, however, of the original Digimon World, which makes it a fun PlayStation alternative to Nintendo's 300-pound pocket gorilla known as Pokémon.
In the game, wild Digimon are attacking the city, and you've been drafted to join the guards to fight, capture, and "digivolve" them. You're armed with a nifty creature vehicle called a Digi-Beetle, and you'll adventure through several midsize dungeons looking for, subduing, and ultimately capturing rampaging Digimon creatures. After you get them, you can trade them or merge them with your Digi-Beetle to give yourself new powers and abilities. For example, such a merging might increase your defense or attack power so you can explore more dungeons and capture more Digi-monsters. There is a paper-thin quest and story to unravel, but it's the new powers and abilities that'll keep you playing.
Perhaps the worst of the rampaging monsters this game offers is the curse of sameness. There are 30 dungeons and you'll face hordes of monsters, but the variety wears thin because the dungeons all look alike. Another problem is that the graphics are muddy and fail to fully capitalize on the aging PlayStation's capabilities. Fortunately, fans will still enjoy taming and capturing the creatures. --Andrew S. Pros:
30 dungeons to explore
Hordes of creatures to tame
Upgrading your Digi-Beetle is fun
Cons:
The graphics aren't so good
The dungeons suffer from sameness

Rating: - Digimon World 2 RULES
I have had this game for five years and it is still the favorite of the many games I have. Once you are an experienced player, the game is no challenge in the least, very easy, but I have never ever gotten bored with it once because of all the digimon team options, you do not just have one main character digimon, you can get any digimon you want.
For new players, the game starts out a challenge, the tip I will give is do not rush into things. Don't fight the bosses and try to complete the game as fast as you can, spend hours and hours training and training until you faint and then beat the bosses slowly and easily. You are doing fabulously if you have at least TWO mega level digimon by the time you go to File Island. No, it doesn't count if you have a gameshark(you start out on Directory Contenent and later in the game you travel to File Island)
Rating: - Great Game for the tots
Ok i got this for my son - and i ended up playin it more than he did, haha. Cause he appears to be more interested in nintendo's pokemon more some. (i hate those critters!) anyway, this game is pretty darn good for a fantasy animal game. has alot of challenge and role play - theres 3 groups of soldiers you gotta join 1 - each one has a specific choice of gameplay - but in the end its all pretty much the same. The dungeons seem to repeat themselves - except the enemies get harder. but its a good game.
Rating: - The Best of Them All
Digimon World 2 is the best game that Bandai has created so far, number 1 was worse than rubbish, number 3 is just as good as this one and number 4 is almost as worse as number 1. The best part about this game is that you cna have loads more digimon than any other game and the battles are 3 on 3 at the max. This game i sworth getting if you are an RPG fan, but you also might want to consider getting digimon world 3 aswell, the only thing about that is the battles are 1 on 1.

Rating: - one of the best digimon games...
i've had this game for about a year now. it took me a while to learn how to play, but once i got the hang of it i couldn't put it down. i've been playing it for about sixty hours now and am probably only half way through it. i like the stages of digivilution more then the first digimon world game. you don't have to go through the in training level and you can get to the mega level. this is a long game, and there's a lot of strategy in it. i've heard people ask how to get metalgreymon in the biodomain. just use the toy plane that mark shultz gives you in the tamer's club. just give metalgreymon the toy plane and nothing else, then he should be yours. the bad thing about this game is, some digimon don't go by the traditional digivilution stages like in the television series. like gabumon, who digivolves into centarumon in the game instead of garurumon. but, if you're a digimon fan like i am then you will like this game.
