Amazon.com:
Following the success of Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, Pyro Studios and Eidos Interactive created a smaller--and far more challenging--version of the same game with a few tweaks and improvements. Though Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty appears on the surface to be an expansion pack, it doesn't require its predecessor to function; Commandos: BCD is a stand-alone product.

Commandos: BCD's gameplay follows the same style as its predecessor. Though classified as a real-time strategy game, Commandos: BCD foregoes the use of resource collectors, buildings, and unit creation--elements seen in games like Command and Conquer and StarCraft. Instead, players assume control of one to six distinctive commandos, such as the marksman Duke and the explosives expert Inferno, and use them collectively to solve puzzle-like combat and stealth situations.

Completing the game's eight World War II-based missions requires specialized use of each of the six commandos as well as making the most out of limited ammunition against typically overwhelming odds. Though the units, both friendly and enemy, are rather small, they're easily distinguishable against the lush, detailed environments. The interface, mostly unchanged from the first game, remains intuitive. When you've completed the relatively brief single-player campaign, you can team up with others through both local area network and Internet play via Eidos's Web site.

In a choice between Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty and its predecessor Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, go with the latter, since it offers three times as many missions and more interesting goals. --Doug Radcliffe

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - BTCOD
Is great if you are a old fan of it but ultimatly it is a 3 [it's kinda hard for a lot of people not everyone].

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - GRRRREAT GAME ... but Windows XP not supported
Dont get me wrong .. this is a grrreat game. I had played it earlier and this was just a superb game to play.
But be warned .. this will not runn on WINDOWS XP. It runs on Windows 95 and 98 only.
So before buying, please ensure that you have windows 95 or 98. This review is just for this functionality .. otherwise this game just ROCKS.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A nice game!
Of the most exciting games I have ever played. The best thing in it is that you have to THINK before you make any move. You need to be accurate and aware of the surrounding soldiers. You shouldn't let the "ALARM..ALARM.." go out or you will have to face more patrols with the ugly bald sergent on the lead, that is if you survive. It will make it harder for you to complete the mission. The game has remarkable graphics. Great music; especially the one that plays in the pause menu.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Challenging.
I received this game from a friend for my 14th birthday a few days ago and have played it. I will tell you this much, it's very challenging. It may look easy, but it isn't.Other than that i found the graphics and the sounds to be fairly realistic, but I have alot of fun playing this game.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Too Hard!!!
I've had this game for 1 year and have only gotten past the 1st mission using codes. There are 70+ enemies per level, and if the alarm goes off, this can increase to 130+. The only new weapons are a rifle that can be heard across the entire level, the same useless submachinegun, impractical harpoons, knives, pistols, and unlethal lethal injections. This game is so ... frustrating. It has okay garphics and sound, but the missions are impossible.
