Rating: - Avoid this Memory Card?...I don't think so...
I have owned this memory card for 6 years now and have yet to encounter a problem. All my saved games are always their and I have not had the problem as the other 2 reviewers below me have stated. I have atleast 8 games saved on the memory card and havent had a problem as I've said. Though I have bought the Regular SONY PS1 Memory cards and they have given me problems from the like os Malfunctioning ones to ones that don't recognize the Playstation. It's not because I am selling this item but, it s because, the mis-information of the other 2 reviewers has lead buyers to believe this item is well...faulty. In my words it's not. It's a good Buy for any agile gamer.
Rating: - DONT BUY!!
[It] broke, not just ceased working, it broke. As I pulled it out for the first time a little piece of the microchip stayed in the system, which i then had to pay to get it removed. We returned it and got a new one, SAME THING HAPPENED. This time i just used a screwdriver to get it out and I returned it for a refund. DONT BUY!
Rating: - Unreliable access
This looked like a great deal at the time since it's the same price as the regular Sony card with eight times the capacity. Alas, reality doesn't subscribe to hype.
You access the different "pages" of the card by holding Select and using L1 and R1 to scroll through. Each "page" acts like a separate memory card. My troubles began when the Memory Card manager on my PS refused to recognize any page except #1 until I "initialized" the card by saving a block onto each page from within a game (I used Bushido Blade 2). All was fine for a while. I backed up 2 of my memory cards to the Nyko and cleared up some room for new game saves - my intention was to use the Nyko to archive saves from games I didn't play often. As of today, I can only access Page 2 and cannot retreive any of the games on the other pages because my PS refuses to allow a page switch (the LED display on the Nyko scrambles for a second, then reverts back to page 2).
Bottom line: Buy the real thing. This card is a piece of junk.
